I'm on a diet.
What's a diet?
A diet is when you watch the food you eat. Some people go on a diet to lose weight, but I’m on a diet to stay healthy.
You don’t need to lose weight.
Not that sort of diet! As well as losing weight dieting can also mean eating carefully to for other reasons.
I don’t need to diet, I eat healthily anyway. I like fruit and vegetables, so I don’t need to watch what I eat too carefully.
