Volunteers needed at Plean Country Park
On Wednesday 8th February - 11am - 3pm, Stirling Council's Ranger Service is looking for volunteers to help with a day of cutting and removing the dead stalks of the common reed and bulrushes in the filtration reed beds. This work needs done each year to prevent litter building up at the bottom and stopping the plants from oxygenating the water, which filters into the Plean Burn.
Some people will be working in the beds, others assisting at the sides.
Waders are required for volunteers working in the water, however these
can be provided if you don't have your own. Tea, coffee and biscuits
will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch, and wear clothing
appropriate to the task and weather.
Booking is essential. To book your place, please call 08452 777 000.
