Stirling Makar, Magi Gibson, visited Dunblane Library and gave a talk on her Seriously Sassy” books. After reading extracts from the books and explaining how her characters had developed, she answered a wide range of questions from her audience. Magi signed copies of her books and participated in an interview session with pupils from one of the local schools.
Bridge of Allan Library hosted popular author, Laura Marney. Laura’s books reflect modern day issues and she explained how she had come to write each of them. She spoke in detail about her most recent book, My best friend has issues” and read extracts from it. A lively question and answer session followed, including a debate on the future of books. The afternoon finished with Laura signing copies of her books for members of the audience.
At both venues, Waterstones made books available for sale. This is a partnership which is developing from their participation in the Off the Page Book Festival events.
Central Library hosted a successful Book Sale and used the opportunity to launch its Crime Reading Group. After several expressions of interest, the latest Stirling Library Reading Group will hold its first meeting on Thursday 18 March.
