Council website does it again!

Stirling Council’s website has came in joint 1st in Scotland for Best Scottish Local Authority Website 2010 for the second year in a row.

SoCITM (Society of Information Technology Management) included Stirling Council in their list of top Scottish unitary web sites, which was published on March 1.

The site received an excellent status in accessibility and usability; meaning the web site is easily used by anyone. Some of the comments included: ‘Like the section called "My Stirling" really clear and nice way of promoting property and mapping’,  ‘A good site with a lot of useful content and a number of online transactions, overall a useful and informative website’.

Stirling Council’s Web Services Team Leader, Yvonne Dickson, said: "People use the web in many different ways, therefore we must provide easily accessible information so that everyone, no matter what age or background, has a seamless and enjoyable experience.

"We are also embracing social networks and have a twitter page and facebook site that will allow the council to communicate more effectively.”
