Balfron’s Friday Night Project

Monday, 8th March, 2010

After some successful nights in Balfron last year, the Friday Night Project is now meeting every Friday night from 7-9pm in the McLintock Hall in Balfron.

Entry is free and is open to all young people aged 14+ and living in the Balfron High catchment area.

Youth Services Worker, Sarah Winstone, explained: "We’re still very new and finding our feet, so come down for a game on the Wii, a hot chocolate and tell us all your ideas for how to make your youth group better.

"If you’re over 18 and interested in volunteering, get in touch. We can offer you training, a fantastic experience and fun. You may also be able to work towards accreditation or a qualification.

"The Friday Night Project was meeting in Killearn but is on hold for now until we can build up more interest. We do still want to get a group going here – do you want to get a new youth group started too? Well come and tell us about it then.

"The Mobile Youth Space is going out to Killearn for the next few weeks to work with the young people – come down and say hi! We’ve got PS3’s, XBOX360’s, games and more on board – and we want to hear your ideas for getting a youth group started in Killearn.

"It will be at the Killearn Village Hall Car park from 7pm on Monday nights, though it may travel around a bit if there aren’t people about. The van is big, white and has graffiti style artwork all over it – you can’t miss us!”
