Biodiversity

Juniper in Touch HillsBiodiversity is the variety of life around us. Everyone can do their bit for biodiversity. There are a number of things that you can do to help biodiversity and small lifestyle changes can have a major effect.

We are busy helping biodiversity in our area. We do this through public events, biological recording and putting the Stirling Biodiversity Action Plan (SBAP) into action. We are currently working with a range of partners to review the SBAP. The consultation draft is available for viewing and comment.

On the 23rd February 2011 more than 50 local experts attended a joint Clackmannanshire and Stirling Species Workshop. The outcomes of this workshop will help to guide the SBAP review process.

We are keen to highlight the great wealth of biodiversity that can be found in Stirling. whether in your nearest greenspace or in the wider countryside.

We have produced a biodiversity trails leaflet that identifies some easy to get to places that are great for seeing some of Stirling’s more spectacular biodiversity. We hope that both residents and visitors to Stirling will use this leaflet.
