Stirling’s Hogmanay – Saturday 31 December
Hogmanay will be really exciting in Stirling this year. Our 2016 New Year’s Eve celebration will centre around a Carnival of Light and Sound with a parade through the city centre, a special Midnight Moment.
The Stirling’s Hogmanay Light Parade will travel through the streets of historic Stirling from around 6.30pm on Hogmanay, culminating in a family entertainment celebration in Port Street.
The light parade will feature costumes and lanterns from local community groups, students, children and artists. The parade will be animated and enhanced by performances from music and arts groups making it a spectacle to watch.
The parade will leave the historic Mars Wark and will travel to Port Street where there will be a staged programme of around two hours of family entertainment for spectators from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.
Stirling will be the focal point for a Hogmanay with a difference, a friendly, family event which can be enjoyed by all ages.
Later in the evening, Stirling’s Midnight Moment will be marked by a spectacular fireworks display, visible from across the area.
