The Stirling Council area is in the heart of Scotland, north of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
- Stirling covers an area of over 2,100 square kilometres
- It is home to around 90,000 people. Many live in the south-east in and around the city of Stirling. The city's excellent transport links mean that Stirling is a practical choice for people who enjoy the high standard of living in our unique city and countryside while commuting easily elsewhere to work.
- The Council has 22 councillors representing 7 wards.
Stirling stretches from the historic royal burgh with a wealth of historic buildings centred around the Castle, to the shores of Loch Lomond and the rugged Trossachs with their scenic lochs, mountains and forests. It includes some of Scotland's most beautiful countryside and parts of the southern Highlands.
