Aim
We aim to provide people who live in the Stirling area with the best possible social work services, with an emphasis on the protection and support of individuals who are at risk. We want to ensure that the people and families in the Stirling area who need social work support are able to make the most of the opportunities they have and to realise their potential.

We are working together to provide better services for local people. The changes aim to provide better, more efficient services, model best practice and make the most of the skills, expertise and experience across both Councils. |

Services we provide
Adult Social Services
We provide a range of services for adults with care needs, for example older people, people with mental health problems, people with physical disabilities or people who have a learning difficulty. An assessment of need is the basis for deciding what kind and level of services should be provided. Access to services is then arranged to meet individual care needs and can include:
- Care assessment
- Adult Support and protection
- Care at home
- Day support
- Mobile Emergency Care Services (MECS)/Telecare
- Residential care (Allan Lodge, Beech Gardens, Strathendrick and Wellgreen House)
- Respite care
- Equipment and adaptations
- Mental Health Officers
Child Care Services
We provide a range of services for vulnerable children and families, provided through a combination of direct and purchased provision and includes:
- Adoption
- Child Care
- Child Protection services
- Family Support and Community Childcare
- Fostering
- Looked after Children
- Services to children with a disability, or affected by the disability of others
- Youth Justice
Child Protection
Child Protection within the Stirling Council area is overseen by the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Child Protection Committee (CPC). Clackmannanshire and Stirling CPC is a multi-agency forum responsible for the development, co-ordination and review of child protection inter-agency policy and practice across Clackmannanshire and Stirling. The CPC is responsible for ensuring that child protection activity complies with national and local standards and aims to promote better outcomes for children and young people.
Criminal Justice Services
Criminal Justice services includes responsibilities for supervising:
- Attendance orders
- Bail
- Community Payback Order
- Diversion from prosecution
- Mandatory Supervised Attendance Order
- Probation
- Unpaid work
We also provide social work services at Cornton Vale Prison under a service level agreement with the Scottish Prison Service.
