Ballot Result

The results of the ballot to establish a Business Improvement District in Stirling City Centre have been announced.

They are as follows:

Number of votes cast 195    
Aggregate rateable value of each relevant property in respect of which a person voted in the ballot £13,057,050    
Number in favour:  114    
Number against:  71    
Aggregate rateable value of each relevant property in respect of which a person voting in the ballot has voted in favour of the proposed Stirling City Centre Business Improvement District  £7,822,100    
Aggregate rateable value of each relevant property in respect of which a person voting in the ballot has voted against the proposed Stirling City Centre Business Improvement District  £5,234,950    

The % turnout was 48% (2.4%spoilt ) 

Therefore,the proposal to establish a Business Improvement District in Stirling City Centre has been approved.  A majority of the Business ratepayers in the proposed BID area who voted, voted for the proposal, both by aggregate rateable value and numbers voting. 

The total number of ballot papers rejected was as follows:

10 Unsigned, unmarked or void for uncertainty

The ballot was run independently by Stirling Council Elections Office.
