Regeneration - employment

Key agencies across Stirling have built strong partnerships to support and drive economic growth. The Stirling City Investment Plan is co-ordinating £950 million of investment in city centre projects. The plan is using a partnership approach to develop and deliver the following gross outputs and impacts over the next ten years:
- £235 m of new Gross Value Added (GVA)
- creation of 5,500 jobs
- generation of 1,200 construction jobs
- 1.5 m sq ft of new business, education, learning and community accommodation
- £5 m of new annual council tax
- additional population growth of 2,000

Key projects currently under way or planned in the Stirling area include:
Forthside development – mixed development of 40 acre (16 hectares) brownfield site to expand the city centre, including a new cinema complex (now complete), conference hotel, city square, offices, retail and residential accommodation. A new landmark bridge now provides pedestrian access from the city centre in to Forthside.
Raploch Regeneration - £120m project to provide up to 900 new homes, health facilities and community campus.
Expansion of Castle Business Park – a mixed development including new business space at Kildean. A new Stirling campus for Forth Valley College is also proposed at this location.
Major Growth Area – new expansion area planned for East Stirling with 2,500 houses, community facilities and business space.
The Sports Village – the recently completed sports village at Forthbank, complements the Forthbank Stadium and the regional hub of the Institute for Sport and National Tennis and Swimming Centres on Stirling University campus.
