Down

In a cool green rush

     We hurtle

       Down

Through a tunnel of pine

Lush perfumed darkness

Bicycle wheels erasing

The slow slog up

We leave everything

Even our grins

Chase after us now

In a trail of amazement...

Helen Lamb has published a poetry collection, Strange Fish (with Magi Gibson) and a short story collection, Superior Bedsits, Polygon. Her work has also been widely published in literary journals and anthologies.  Many of her stories have been broadcast on radio and appeared in translation.
