Aspire Project - skills in the workplace

Do you want to improve your skills at work?

The ASPIRE project offers free training to employees who are vulnerable or disadvantaged at work. The training can be tailored to employees' workplace and duties.

ASPIRE can offer:

  • Core skills training (reading, writing, maths, numbers)
  • ICT training
  • English lessons at the workplace (ESOL)
  • ASDAN Employability Qualification
  • Job specific training, eg. ICT, Sage, book keeping, SVQs and NVQs or bespoke training
  • All training requests can be considered by the project

Below is a short film showing combined English and dementia training delivered to care home staff in the Stirling area

The ASPIRE report offers further information on training opportunities.

The target groups for the project are employees:

  • wishing to improve their core skills
  • for whom English is a second or additional language
  • experiencing disability or health issues
  • who are unable to keep up with changes in the workplace

The ASPIRE project will run to March 2013 and is funded by Stirling Council and the European Social Fund Lowlands and Uplands Scotland 2007-2013 Programme.

ASPIRE forms part of Stirling's Pipeline.
