About us

Croftamie Nursery opened in July 1997, and was one of the Council's first stand alone nurseries to offer a flexible service with the aim of meeting the needs of children and their families.

The nursery environment offers opportunities for:

  • imaginative play
  • creative and artistic play
  • construction and block play
  • physical activities
  • outdoor activities
  • reading books
  • musical activities
  • games and puzzles
  • gardening

As children take part in these activities, they become more skilled in talking and listening, in planning their tasks and concentrating on them, and they develop the language, the mathematical skills and the co-ordination to carry their learning forward at school. More information is available in our handbook.
