About Cornton Primary School...
Cornton Primary School was originally opened in 1958 for children from Primary 1 to Primary 4. The school was extended to Primary 7 some 20 years later with the addition of mobile classrooms.
In 2000 the school building was extended and refurbished to the current high standard, principally because of the new houses being built in the Westhaugh area. The school’s catchment area covers both Cornton and Westhaugh. The school has been extended again in the summer of 2014 to incorporate an additional 2 classrooms in an annex which currently houses our Primary 1 classes and Cornton Nursery has now moved to a purpose built nursery in Lomond Crescent, Cornton.
There are 11 modern classrooms, 8 in the main building, 2 in the newly extended annex and one in a temporary teaching unit housing approximately 226 children in total. Each class has modern computing facilities including interactive whiteboards and computers in all rooms.
Outdoor facilities include several playground areas alongside a largegrass playing area. We also have a basketball/football pitch, a shelter, climbing frame, bike shed and many planted seating areas for quiet times.
Cornton Primary School inspections...

Each school has it own geographic area called a catchment area. Normally, your child will attend your local catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than the catchment school you are required to make a placing request. View Cornton Primary School's catchment area.
