Doune Primary is a co-educational, non-denominational school for children from Primary 1 to Primary 7. The school occupies a picturesque site enjoying views across fields and woodland towards Doune Castle.
Doune Primary is a single-storey building. During session 2011 the school underwent a complete refurbishment and extension. The school has a fully equipped gym, a small reference library area, eight classrooms, open areas for P1-P3, P4-5 and P6-7, a dining hall and kitchen, three asphalt play areas and a 1.5 acre playing field.
Parents, staff and children have developed the grounds of the school which includes playground games, low level play equipment, a quiet area with seats and tables and garden areas where we grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. Within the garden we have wildlife areas and a willow dome. With parental help we recently added a traverse climbing wall. More information is available in our handbook.
Doune Nursery is situated beyond the school garden.
Each school has it own geographic area called a catchment area. Normally, your child will attend your local catchment school. If you wish your child to attend a school other than the catchment school you are required to make a placing request. View our catchment area.
