About the school
St Mary’s was established in the nineteenth century and originally stood in Mill Row in a house known as the“Auld Licht”. The school has been on its present site since 1850. The ground for the present school was gifted by Kippendavie Estate. Over a century and a half since it was established St Mary’s continues to flourish providing a high standard of education to all our pupils.
The school has four classrooms and a computer/library area. The school is surrounded by a tarmac play area.
Education Scotland has responsibility for evaluating the quality of pre-school education, all schools, teacher education, community learning and development, further education and local authorities. They also publish reports about services for children and evaluate child protection services.
