Telecare - how it works

Most of our Telecare equipment requires a unit.  Your unit is connected to an active land line telephone socket and a nearby mains power socket.

You can summon assistance by either pressing the button on your unit or your pendant.  If other equipment is provided, the sensor/detector will automatically raise an alert if required.

When activated:

  • our advisors will attempt to talk to you through a loud speaker in your unit
  • if required, our advisors will summon assistance from your volunteer responders, Telecare responders and, if necessary, the emergency services.
