Council housing - rechargeable repairs

A rechargeable repair is where a property requires a repairas a result of damage or negligence. These repairs will be payable by you if the damage is caused knowinglyor unknowingly.  Some commonrechargeable repairs are:-

  • Gaining entry and renewing lock if the keys are lost
  • Replacing glass where the damage is caused by the tenant
  • Clearing blocked waste pipes
  • Replacing damaged fixtures and fittings where the damage is malicious or through neglect
  • Putting right poor DIY
  • Clearing rubbish and belongings in empty properties

We will never carry out a rechargeable repair beforeinforming you of the estimated costs first.
