How the code of conduct works
The Code provides an informal approach to resolving and challenging issues at work by encouraging communication wiith each other about behaviour and the impact it has.
To ensure the Code is readily available, pocket sized cards were issued to everyone who works for the Council. As well as outlining responsibilities and rights, the card itself can act as a prop to those who find it diffiuclt to express themselves in what might be a difficult or emotional situation. By simply displaying the card, the user can indicate a potential issue around behaviour.
It's not just about giving feedback on the bad - it should be used to feedback on the good!
Where people have tried to discuss issues of behaviour and the impact it's having using the Code, workplace medation can provide an another informal way to support individuals in resolving their differences.
