General Information

  • body lice are small, wingless external parasites
  • they live on the body and in the clothing or bedding of infested humans
  • body lice eggs are lain in the seams of clothing or on bedding.

Significance

  • severe itching (and rashes) are common symptoms; both are the body's allergic reaction to the lice bite
  • when laundering items, use the hot cycle
