Information
- Psocids (Booklice), also sometimes called barklice, are small insects belonging to the insect order Psocoptera.
- most species are free-living and are not pests
- prefer warm conditions, especially kitchens
- are commonly found in flour
- pale yellow in colour and wingless
Other
- wash down shelves and thoughly dry the shelf and surrounding area removing all moisture
- discard affected food
- we usually do not treat as such - just provide advice
- keep foodstuffs away from kettles and microwaves etc as these can intensify the humidity
