Licences - metal dealers
You need a metal dealer's licence from Stirling Council to carry on a business as a metal dealer.
You must not be disqualified from holding a licence, and you must be a fit and proper person to be the holder of the licence.
The premises and their location must be suitable for the activity of metal dealing.
You must not have been refused the same licence within the last year, unless there has been a material change in your circumstances since your last application.
Please note: A metal dealer's licence is not required if you have a metal dealer’s exemption warrant
You may apply for an exemption warrant if the total value of metals sold or supplied in a financial year ending within the last 18 months is more than £100,000 without deductions.
You need an Itinerant metal dealer's licence to carry on a business as an itinerant or travelling metal dealer.
