Stirling Council is responsible for many aspects of conservation, ranging from preserving buildings and trees in the area, to caring for the countryside and local environment.

We promote wildlife and habitat management through our Rangers service, deal with development and building proposals relating to conservation areas and listed buildings through our planning department, work closely with other organisations such as Historic Scotland, and much more.

The Local Development Plan sets out the planning policy framework for new development and the conservation of the environment.

The designated Conservation Areas can be viewed here and the current Conservation Appraisals (August 2014) can be viewed here.

Information on funding and grants can be obtained from the Communities Team and can be viewed here.
