Children and young people - residential care
We offer residential accommodation for young people aged between 12 and 20 years of age under auspices of the Children's (Scotland) Act 1995. The National Care Standards, which underpin the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, describe key principles which identify what a young person can expect from their care provider, primarily the rights to dignity, privacy, choice, realising
potential, equality, diversity and safety.
What we do.
We aim to provide excellent care to young people within a residential environment and work to promote and safeguard their welfare. We also work as part of a team to meet the needs of the individual and to advocate for, or on behalf of, each young person who is accommodated in the unit.
We engage in partnership working with other agencies, such as
- Education,
- Health, Social Work,
- Positive Changes
- Fraegarrach.
Staff
All staff have relevant qualifications to meeting the registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council and all staff satisfy Stirling Council's Safe Recruitment Practice policy.
Accommodation
We offer residential care for young people at two units:
Brucefield
- Brucefield is a purpose built residential home, providing accommodation for up to 5 young people on an emergency, assessment and long-term basis. We provide an Outreach service, which aims to support children and families and curb the numbers of young people being admitted into Local Authority Care, by providing early interventions and preventative therapeutic interventions.
Glasgow Road
- Glasgow Road is a residential home, providing accommodation for up to 3 young people on a long-term basis in one of two flats. We cater for young people between the ages of 16 and 18 years old. The purpose of the flats is to help young people who have previously been looked after prepare for living independently.
