Food safety - regulations
The sale of food is governed by the Food Safety Act 1990 and associated regulations.
The Food Standards Agency has provided guidance for food businesses.
If you are planning to operate a new food business, you must register the premises with us at least 28 days before opening.
If you are applying for a provisional liquor licence or a full premises licence, you must first obtain Section 50 certificates from Planning, Environmental Health and Building Standards.
