HIV / AIDS - advice and support for adults

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is on the rise in Scotland. Every year, more people than ever before are being diagnosed with HIV.

With good medical care and treatment, most people living with HIV are healthier and can expect a
relatively normal life span. If you think you have been at risk, get tested for HIV - see the links below.

Although there is no cure for HIV you can protect yourself and your partner by practising safer sex
and having regular sexual health checks. Always use a condom during sex to prevent your partner
becoming infected with HIV, hepatitis and other sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia,
syphilis, gonorrhea and herpes.
