Accessing care services

You can get care services in three ways:

Stirling Council

We take the lead in assessing your needs and co-ordinating services for you. You can make contact with the Community Care Team through their intake system.  You may require an assessment, which would be carried out by a Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, who will assess your needs and help put together a care plan for you. You can either phone, write to, or visit the Community Care Team, or someone can do this on your behalf. Very often a relative or someone who knows you well, your GP or a nurse can make the contact for you.

Your own GP

Your GP can offer you advice and information about community care services.  Almost all of the health services can only be accessed through your GP, who will refer you on to the health services as appropriate.  Please see GP practices.

Direct contact

You can get in touch with some organisations direct, particularly those in the voluntary sector.  You may not require an assessment to receive these services.  However if you are required to pay for services, then contact your Community Care Team, who may be able to help you with some or all of the costs.
