What is Strathendrick?
Strathendrick is one of four residential care homes operated by Stirling Council. Strathendrick is located in the village of Balfron.
What do we do?
Strathendrick aims to provide a friendly, homely environment where people feel safe, secure and valued. We provide care for older people who require varying levels of support including personal and social care, dementia care, end of life and palliative care.
Our support staff are also trained and qualified in:
- moving and handling
- advice and assistance with nutrition
- advice and assistance with continence management
- medication management
We ensure that our staff respond to the needs and wishes of those who choose to spend time at Strathendrick and are encourage to participate in all decisions about the support services provided depending on individual needs.
We provide the following services:
Short Break Service
At Strathendrick we can also provide accommodation and support services on a respite basis, providing all necessary support required during an individual's stay.
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation aims to assist individuals to remain in their own home or support their discharge home so that they can remain there with confidence and as much independence as possible.
Long term care service
We provide a long term care service for up to 10 residents and aim to provide a friendly, homely environment where individuals feel safe, secure and valued. The right to privacy, choice and confidentiality is considered essential for residents. Experienced staff will offer support to all aspects of daily living with every effort made to respond to the needs and wishes of our residents.
Intermediate care services
Intermediate Care within a Care home may be provided for individuals who may otherwise be eligible for Rapid Response services but require a greater degree of support and supervision.
Accommodation
Strathendrick is purpose built care home, providing short-term and long-term accommodation and rehabilitation for up to 12 older people. The accommodation is designed to meet the needs of older people, including those who are frail, have ill health or those who have dementia.
All bedrooms are single and have en-suite facilities, some with showers. There are two bright and well-furnished lounge and dining areas, a garden room and a newly refurbished treatment and therapy room. The lounges are equipped with televisions, video and audio equipment.
Strathendrick has views across the Campsie Hills and offers a rural and community based home. The garden grounds are attractively planted and accessible, and encourage individuals to relax and enjoy the outside space and views.
Location
Balfron is a village in Western Stirlingshire, located 18 miles West of Stirling and 16 miles North of Glasgow.
How to refer?
To be assessed for a placement at Strathendrick Care Home, a Community Care Assessment will be required to be undertaken.
