Wellgreen House

Wellgreen House is one of four residential care homes operated by Stirling Council. Wellgreen House is located in the heart of the City of Stirling.

Wellgreen House aims to provide a friendly, homely environment where people feel safe, secure and valued. We provide care for older people who require varying levels of support including personal and social care, dementia care, end of life and palliative care.

Our support staff are also trained and qualified in:

  • moving and handling
  • advice and assistance with nutrition
  • advice and assistance with continence management
  • medication management

We ensure that our staff respond to the needs and wishes of those who choose to spend time at Wellgreen House and are encouraged to participate in all decisions about the support services provided depending on individual needs.

At Wellgreen House, we work as a multi-disciplinary team, with close support from other specialists including Physiotherapy, District Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Podiatrists and General Practitioners to ensure the effective support of all residents.

Long term care service

We provide a long term care service for up to 30 residents and aim to provide a friendly, homely environment where individuals feel safe, secure and valued. The right to privacy, choice and confidentiality is considered essential for residents. Experienced staff will offer support to all aspects of daily living with every effort made to respond to the needs and wishes of our residents.

Dementia care service

We have a dementia care unit within Wellgreen House providing the facility to provide specialised dementia care for up to seven residents. At Wellgreen House, all our staff have additional training and skills specific to supporting people with dementia, however this unit has an enhanced staffing ratio to support the needs of each resident.

Accommodation

Wellgreen House is a purpose built care home, providing long-term accommodation for up to 30 older people. The accommodation is designed to meet the needs of older people, including those who have varying degrees of dementia and complex needs.

Wellgreen House consists of 4 small units, each containing seven or eight bedrooms, linked to a central courtyard, well stocked with plants and an interesting water feature. Each unit contains single bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. We encourage all residents to personalise their rooms to their needs and preferences. Each unit contains a bright and well-furnished lounge and small dining area. All lounges are equipped with televisions, audio and visual equipment. Additionally, there is a considerably larger lounge, which is used for various activities and entertainment in the evenings and weekends.

Wellgreen House offers various on-going activities. Our staff are always happy to arrange accompanied outings for either small groups of residents, or on a one to one basis. We have regular visiting entertainers and our residents opinions are actively sought for the creation of future events and activities. Wellgreen House has extensive garden grounds which provide residents with the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors within close proximity to the home.

Assessment

To be assessed for a placement in Wellgreen House, a Community Care Assessment will be required to be undertaken.
