Youth Services Information Station
The Information station will open (for 16+) to gain information about attractions, sexual health, jobs, education, benefits or just to be listened to. Under 16's are free to pop in to find out local information about their area or to apply for an NEC card. There will be drinks and things to eat, so make sure you pop in to check out the new facility.
What is the Info Station?
The concept for the project has been around for many years, but was recently, formally opened in Stirling in June 2010. Since then the Information Station has expanded, working with partners, reaching out to, and working with, more young people across Stirling than ever before. There is also a Mobile Information Station Van supporting rural young people who may not of able to access the pilot’s central location.
So what is the purpose of the Info Station?
The Information Station provides Information, Advice and Guidance for young people aged 16 and over. Information is distributed on a wide variety of issues such as education, employment, health, housing and travel and staff are prepared to answer any question a young person might have or to sign post them to an appropriate agency. Often information enquiries are straightforward, but sometimes a little more time and assistance can be required.
