Schools - complaints procedure

If you wish to make a complaint about your child's education, a process is in place to help to address your concerns.

In most cases, concerns can be resolved at an early stage. On rare occasions, a difficulty may not be resolved and you need to know how to take matters further. In the first instance, you should raise the problem directly with the school. If a solution is not reached, you should contact the Head of Education, preferably in writing, setting out the complaint. The Head of Education may appoint a senior officer to work with the school to resolve the problem. If it remains unresolved, either you or the Head of Education may ask for the matter to be passed to the Parental Complaints Officer for a formal investigation.
