The purpose of the Stirling & Clackmannanshire Species Workshop was to verify the national lists (UK and Scottish) that exist for the Stirling and Clackmannanshire areas. The workshop also sought to identify further sources of biological data as well as existing projects and initiatives that can contribute to the reviewed Stirling and Clackmannanshire Biodiversity Action Plans.
The participants worked in one of four specialist groups. The lists of priority species and the results from the feedback questionnaires from each group are available by clicking on the group name.
- Bird group - species list and feedback
- Invertebrate group - species list and feedback
- Plant group - species list and feedback
- Vertebrates (excluding birds) group - species list and feedback
Each of the groups’ feedback documents contain the collated information from all of the questionnaires that were completed, including a list of priority actions suggested by that species group. These have been scored by giving each person’s top priority 5 points their second priority 4 points, etc.
There are similarities between the priorities identified by the different groups. The priorities for each group have been combined using an average score from the group. The top ten priorities are included in the workshop notes along with a suggestion of how they can be incorporated into the BAPs.
