Official opening of the 2011 season
Stirling Council opened its fisheries for the 2011 season at the River Teith at Callander on Tuesday 1st February.
TV presenter Neen Mackay officially opened the fishery and wished everyone well for the new season.
The day commenced at 9.00am with the traditional parade of anglers preceded by pipers from Ancaster Square to the Meadows car park. There was a word of welcome from Provost Fergus Wood before Neen is asked to toast the river.
Anglers commenced fishing and there was prizes donated by Deanston distillery and Stirling Council for the first fresh fish caught and the heaviest fresh fish caught.
At the end of the day there was a presentation and buffet at Deanston distillery for invited guests and prize winners.
