Dean of the GuildryPaul George Miller was re-installed as Dean at the Winter Court and AGM on Wednesday 12th January 2011.

Paul was born and educated in Stirling and brought up in the village of Fallin and has lived in the area all of his life. He began his working career in 1964 as an apprentice Plumber with Archie Gourlay’s in Stirling. On completion of his apprenticeship he joined the NHS as a Plumber at Stirling Royal Infirmary. He held posts as Planner Estimator and General Foreman and after completion of 17 years service he took a post as Assistant Clerk of Works with Standard Life Assurance Company at their head offices in Edinburgh. He became a fellow member of the “Institute of Clerk of Works” and remained with the company for 18 years and took early retirement as a Building Operation Manager in December 2006.

In the mid sixties Paul was a crew member of the Auxiliary Fire Service which was linked to the Central Area Fire Brigade in Stirling, this service was eventually disbanded in 1968. Paul came out of retirement in 2007 and is currently working as a Maintenance Assistant at the Stirling Highland Hotel. He is married to Frances and have two grown up children Angela and Christopher.

In his spare time he is secretary in a number of organisations associated to Freemasonry and is a Past Master in Lodge Stirling Royal Arch 76. Paul joined the Guildry of Stirling at the Summer Court 2000 and has served on the Dean’s Council since 2006.
