Kings Park
The King's Park. is a beautiful public park and boasts:
- playing fields
- play park for older and yournger children
- skateboard and bmx track
- putting course
- tennis courts
It is one of Stirling's best used recreation areas. Historically the park was used as the hunting ground for the Royal Court at Stirling.
With the arrival of the railway in 1848 and commuting between Stirling and Glasgow took less than an hour. Glasgow businessmen came to live in the healthier environment of Stirling and would commute to work, rather than live in the pollution of the big city. Beautiful, grand houses were built in the Kings Park area which became very fashionable and the Park began to be laid out as it is today.
The park has more recently been used for public events both a fairground and circus have been common happenings in the park.
