Stirling Council Draft Openspace Strategy.
The preparation of an Open Space Strategy is a statutory planning requirement to be undertaken by all Planning authorities under Scottish government planning regulations. We have been working on this over several years. It has entailed mapping all of our areas open space to audit their quantity, quality and access. The findings have been used to inform the draft strategy agreed at Full Council in October 2011.
The results of the initial Openspace Consultation (Summer 2010) and Draft Openspace Strategy are subject to consultation with statutory bodies and are now available for public consultation. Currently 32 local communities are being invited to comment on the settlement and community opportunity plans being presented by the Councils independent consultants Halcrow.
In addition a Strategic Environmental Assessment has been carried out and an Environmental Report (with appendices) produced which is also subject to public consultation.

Do I Qualify
- In receipt of High Rate Attendance Allowance (Homecare)
- 75 Years and over on or before 1st January, 2011
- Chronically Sick
At present a waiting list is in operation although successful applicants may pay for the service until a space becomes available.
