Forest and woodland management

We own and manage over 20 individual woodland sites totalling some 560 hectares (over 1000 acres). These are managed by the Land Conservation Team, part of Land Services.

The woodlands in our area provide a range of habitats for birds, mammals, plants and insects. Three of our woodlands contain areas designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

We manage our woodlands in accordance with the key themes of the Scottish Forestry Strategy

1. Climate changeWoodland path, Plean Country Park

2. Timber

3. Business Development

4. Community Development

5. Access and health

6. Environmental quality

7. Biodiversity
