Free bus travel for older and disabled people anywhere in Scotland
If you are 60 or over, you can apply for a National Entitlement Card, which will give you free travel on buses throughout Scotland.
How do I apply for a bus pass?
You can pick up an application for your bus pass at Stirling Bus Station or ask for an application to be posted to your home address. After completing your application you must bring it, along with proof of eligibility (see below) and a passport photo to Stirling Bus Station to allow a staff member to check your details.
The passport photograph which you attach to the form should be recent (taken within the last year) and be of you, on your own, showing a close-up of your head and shoulders so that your face covers approximately 65% to 75% of the photograph and your features should be clearly distinguished against the background. The photograph should be in sharp focus and clear and printed on plain photo quality paper.
The times that you may attend the bus station are between 9.00am and 4.45pm Monday to Saturday

Who is eligible for a Bus Pass?
You are eligible for a bus pass if you are a resident in Scotland (Stirling Council Area), and aged over 60, if you are registered blind, partially sighted, if you are disabled or if you have mental health problems.
Who is eligible for a Companion Pass?
People from the age of 5 years, whose disablement is such that they require to ba accompanied when travelling and are in receipt of DLA middle or high rate of care component, in receipt of Attendance Allowance or Registered Blind and is on a register maintained by or on behalf of the council.
Can I use my bus pass to travel on buses outside the local area?
Yes, you can use your bus pass to travel free on scheduled long distance coach travel anywhere in Scotland.
What do I need to provide to complete an application?
Bus Pass for over 60:
Proof of Address - One from the following - Council Tax Bill, Utilities Bill, Bank Statement, Television Licence or letter from Residential Home.
Proof of Age - One from the following - Birth Certificate, Passport, Photo Driving Licence or Attendance Award Letter.
Disabled Bus Pass:
Proof of Address and Age as above.
Proof of Disablement - One from the following - high rate of mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance, the high or middle rate of the care component Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance Award Letter, an Award letter from the Veterans Agency or a disabled person's parking badge issued in accordance with the Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (Scotland) Regulations 2000 - also commonly known as a Blue Badge or disabled Taxation Class (DVLA form V11 of DLA form 404).
Other Categories
Deaf - Profoundly or severely deaf applicants (must be in both ears). The applicant must suffer from bilateral hearing loss greater than 70dBHL averaged over 1, 2 and 4 KHz.
Driving Licence - Refused or revoke on medical grounds (other than misuse of drugs or alcohol) (letters should be dated within the last 12 months). Epilepsy - Anyone with epilepsy who has had a seizure within the past 12 months and does not hold a current driving licence (licence revoked or surrendered on medical grounds, has never had a driving licence and would be refused a driving licence on medical grounds if they applied for one may be eligible to apply. (Application NCT003).
If the Applicant, although under the legal age to drive, were to apply for a driving licence under Part 111 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 they would have their licence application refused pursuant to section 92 of the Act (Physical Fitness) otherwise than on the grounds of persistent misuse of drugs or alcohol.
Mental Health Issues - Applicant must have completed and had validated a NCT002 Certificate of Eligibility verifying their mental health condition under the definition provided.
People who have Limb Loss - one or both lower limbs, one lower limb and one upper limb or both upper limbs.
Anyone diagnosed as being terminally ill or anyone with a progressive degenerative disorder which severely impedes their mobility and ability to carry out day to day activities.
Renewing your card
If you have your card because you are over 60 (and not because of any disability) it will automatically be renewed approximately 14 days before it is due to expire. If you have moved address, please go to Ticket Sales at Stirling Bus Station with proof of your new address 3 to 4 weeks before the expiry date, we will then update our records so that your card will go out to the correct address.
