Healthy community organisations will have appropriate constitutions and ensure that they are doing all they can within their powers to achieve their objectives. This means that the people involved in healthy organisations will understand their roles and responsibilities and act accordingly.
Meetings will be held in a way that brings out the best in people, and which reflect the objectives and priorities of the organisation. The organisation will be able to make decisions, agree actions to be taken and progress action between meetings. It will also be able to keep track of its affairs - managing its finances effectively.
And have some sense of how it is doing and whether it is effective at achieving what it set out to do and whether it can improve on its past performance.
Above all it will be recruiting and keeping volunteers - supporting them while they support the organisation.
