Regarded in awe by their peers for their skill and dexterity, tonight we welcome back Michael McGoldrick after his last sell-out gig along with guitarist John Doyle and on bodhran John Joe Kelly.
Michael McGoldrick is widely regarded as one of the greatest traditional flute players of all time, with his distinctive crossover of traditional Irish music to modern day sound. He has won many awards including All-Ireland Champion and the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Musician of the Year.
From Dublin, but now based in the US, John Doyle is known for his distinctive style and innovative tunings. A founding member of Solas he has also played with many greats including Jerry Douglas and Bela Fleck.
In demand with bands including Flook and Altan, John Joe Kelly grew up in a Manchester Irish family. From very young he was always an outstanding bodhran player, and is continually expanding the boundaries of what beats and sounds you can get from one simple drum.
