Plant Pots Aren't Garden Waste
Plastic plant pots don't compost very well. In fact, they don't compost at all. Neither do garden hoses, rope, glass bottles, duvets, carpeting or plastic sacks of mixed waste. Even so, some Stirling Council residents seem to think these items are 'garden waste' because they put them in their Brown bins for collection.
Unfortunately, those items only cause contamination. The only things that should be in Brown bins are grass, leaves, hedge and tree trimmings, weeds and cardboard (with plastic, tape and staples removed). Find out more about Brown bins and compost. See photos of the sorting and composting process.
And remember that Clean Compost Counts. Please don't contaminate your Brown bin.
