Service update: Normal waste and recycling bin collections restarted on 1 June, 2020. Collections will be made in line with the latest bin calendar, which you can also download.
You can drop of your glass recycling at any of our Waste Recycling Centres. We also have a number of bottle bin locations in the community. This map will show you where these bottle bins are.
HOW TO RECYCLE GLASS BOTTLES AND JARS
Put lids and caps back on. This reduces the chance of them getting lost during the sorting process as they can be recycled separately.
Empty and rinse. A quick rinse will do. Leftover liquid can contaminate other recyclables which may mean they aren't recycled.
For battery disposals:
You can take your batteries to any one of our Household Recycling Centres at Lower Polmaise, Balfron and Callander. Alternatively, many large retailers and supermarkets provide battery recycling collection facilities where you can drop off your used batteries. Provision should be checked with individual stores.
By recycling the materials you can no longer re-use you are:
- Saving the Earth's natural resources.
- Saving energy and reducing the risk of climate change.
- Reducing the need for landfill.
Recycling is the third of the traditional "3Rs":
Recycling usually comes into play only after Reducing waste and Reusing materials are no longer options.
