This year’s exciting entertainment line-up, featuring some of the best up-and-coming Scottish musical talents and established acts, along with the two spectacular fireworks displays, is proving a big draw to families.

Ticket requests have also come in from far away as Australia and the USA, highlighting the global appeal of the event.

Growing reputation

Stuart Oliver, Stirling Council’s Senior Manager for Economic Development and Communities, said: “These brilliant figures show the healthy appetite amongst the public for Stirling’s Hogmanay, underlining the growing reputation of the event and its popularity among families.

“Last year’s celebrations proved a huge success as we sold out the midnight event and came close to selling out the family event, and we are excited at our music and entertainment line-up for 2019.

“Although we have increased capacity, with demand for tickets expected to surge over the coming days and weeks, my message would be to book up early to ensure you can ring in the New Year to the stunning backdrop of Stirling Castle.”

Treacherous Orchestra

The midnight event will be headlined by Treacherous Orchestra, whose terrific tunes are renowned for electrifying audiences wherever they play, including European festivals and sold-out shows at Celtic Connections.

Fresh from performing at TRNSMT and the Belladrum Festival, Stephanie Cheape, named as Scotland’s best-unsigned act in 2017, will also take to the stage entertain revellers ahead of the bells.

Family-friendly

To ensure everyone can enjoy the celebrations, the Council is also staging a family-friendly concert earlier in the evening.

Gifted young singer Gemma Lamont will get the party atmosphere started in earnest, unleashing a selection of the biggest and best chart anthems with her powerhouse vocals.

For those seeking something less pop-tastic, Glaswegian outfit, Dlu will also showcase their energetic offering of alternative and traditional music, which has set them apart from anything in their genre in their home city.

Incredible fireworks displays

Both events will climax with incredible fireworks displays, with a kaleidoscope of colour illuminating Stirling Castle and lighting up the city’s historic landscape.
