Following the tragic events in New Zealand today, Thursday 15 March, Stirling Council has issued the following statement on behalf of Provost Christine Simpson.
“Stirling sends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the people of Christchurch, New Zealand, in the wake of today’s terrible tragedy.
“As a mark of respect our flag will fly at half-mast.
“This is heart-breaking news and our thoughts are with the victims, their families and their communities.
“In the darkest of times, we draw light from the strength of our people.
“All our support and love goes to the communities affected.”
