Stirling and Clackmannanshire Child Protection Committee

The Stirling and Clackmannanshire Child Protection Committee is a forum that's made up of representatives from a range of organisations. These include:

  • Stirling Council
  • Clackmannanshire Council
  • NHS Forth Valley
  • Police Scotland
  • voluntary and independent bodies that work with children and families

Responsibilities

The main purpose of the committee is to:

  • ensure that child protection activity in Stirling and Clackmannanshire complies with national and local standards
  • promote better outcomes for children and young people in these areas

As laid out in child protection legislation, the committee's specific responsibilities are to lead on:

  • policies, procedures and protocols
  • self-evaluation, performance management and quality assurance
  • promoting good practice
  • training and staff development
  • strategic planning
  • public information and communication

Governance

The Child Protection Committee reports to the Chief Officers Group as stated in the Terms of Reference.
