Service updates for Residents during the races
Road closures
Time Trial closures
The UCI Cycling World Championships Time Trial will be held in Stirling from Wednesday 9 August to Friday 11 August.
To make sure that the event is safe, we'll close some roads for extended periods. These closures will affect parts of:
- the city centre
- the west of the city
We'll share further information about the closures soon.
Road Race closures
Some UCI Cycling World Championships Road Race events will also involve roads in the council area. These events will take place on:
- Sunday 6 August
- Saturday 12 August
- Sunday 13 August
In these cases, any closures will:
- be done on a 'rolling' basis
- only last for short periods
How we'll share information about the closures
If your community, home or business will be directly impacted by the events, you'll get communications from us in the run up to the Championships.
We'll also share information about the closures on:
- this website
- our social media channels
- Tell Me Scotland, where we need to publish a public information notice about a closure
Waste collection arrangements during the time trials
Alternative arrangements are being put in place to ensure residents will continue to have their bins collected on, or as close as possible to their normal collection day, during the events. Details will be shared shortly.
Community engagement
From May onwards, we'll engage with communities and businesses about how we can:
- reduce disruption to residents
- answer questions about what's happening
- maximise opportunities from this global event
