In the absence of Martin Shaw, Chairman, Mandy chaired the meeting - welcomed all and introductions were made.

Secretary
No major issues to report. We have had a request for the use of zoom for the meetings. This has been discussed previously and unfortunately will not be available.
Treasurer
No access to bank account. Need to set up a new account as soon as possible. In order to set up an RBS Treasurer account need a current account holder to do this.
Minute Taker is still to be paid – outstanding balance £135.
Last payment received was September 2024. £135 balance covers – October ’24, November ’24 and January ‘25

Windfarms have a Community Benefit Fund – treasurer will put forward a case to access
this. Business in Springkerse were recently contacted regarding possible funding to assist
with booksheds, conservation volunteers etc. Unfortunately, no response has been
received, treasurer will chase this up.
Actions:
Jamie – chase up Springkerse businesses and put a case forward re: windfarm community
fund.
Martin to look into setting up the new account with RBS.
Planning
Nothing to report. The underpass situation at the top of Shirras Brae was noted – the
underpass has been blocked up, what is happening in the area? Councillor McLaughlan
will try and get someone from the council to update on the position.

Councillor Report
Councillor McLaughlan – introduced Councillor Ferguson. Council is in the middle of a full
budget which will be finalised in February. Reminder to the community council to highlight
any issues or complaints about the area or council houses to himself.
Councillor Flannagan – all ok following the storm. The council are sorting out the damage
at the schools. Issues with waste being left by council tenants. Anti-social behaviour
meeting. Encourage people complete feedback on the Big Conversation Website.
Councillor McLaughlan introduced Councillor Ferguson who is the new councillor following
the resignation of Councillor Kane last year.

Banking Update

Defib Status/New Location
Lesley confirmed checks have taken place on all the defibs and all ok. Batteries still not
required just now.

Position on defib at the Co-op to be updated.

Martin – maintain contact with Manager at Co-op.
Afton Court Park
Lesley still to hear from Land Services regarding the replacement chute. Work was due to begin in January however no further forward just yet.

Flyers/Leaflet Drops
Query regarding location details on the flyer. Suggested text should read “locations alternate, please see Facebook and or Noticeboards for updates”.

Location/Meetings
Apart from Mayfield Centre only other location that can be used is the Crawford Hall. Need to make sure Facebook is updated with details of the meetings and locations.

Loop System – portable availability?

Mandy – to confirm payment for March and will ask about Loop System at Crawford Hall
Toy Library/Planters/small Differences
Need to look at upgrading the toy boxes in the park. Assistance from Superglass? Possible assistance from resident in Braehead due to nature of work – could these be made?

Lesley – will take this on and discuss further.
Windows – Possible window trail for Christmas similar to Riverside’s Christmas Event. It has been briefly mentioned on Facebook.
Discussed whether there was any way of having Christmas Lights in the area? Look at possible joint ventures with other community councils.

Book Shed
No update.
Bannockburn Road – resident email
Correspondence received from a resident on Bannockburn Road regarding issues with bins/waste on Braehead/Broomridge side. Pass correspondence to Councillor McLaughlan to review and investigate.
Disclosure Scotland
Notification received that the PVG scheme is free for voluntary organisations.

Lesley – will review and update all at the next meeting.
