1 Introductions and welcome
1.1 The Chair, AF, welcomed everyone to the meeting especially PC Josh Capes
who attended on behalf of the police.

2. Matters arising
2.1. Handrail between Bruce Terrace and Underwood Cottages has sheared off –
JP has reported no change so far – AF to chase up. NB was looking into this

2.2 Website - designer has been paid. This can be removed from the agenda.
ACTION AF Community Pride check if final report has been done.
2.3. Playpark improvements – hole in toddler area/ missing swing. Work is starting
the week commending 21 April.
Hammerite paint has been used for the railing in error, it was for the toddler
area. Work here is now underway.
2.4. Fleming Trust bookcase - ongoing
2.5. Rovers Park bridge safety concerns and who owns the land around the
entrance to football park – notice to be put up and tenders sought, arrange
meeting with Gary from Rovers,
ACTION AF to chase up.
2.5.1 ACTION MN to produce laminated sign.
2.6 Cambusbarron Goodwill Fund – funds to be transferred to the CC fund.
ACTION MN.
2.7 Pedestrian crossing at Foresters – we need advice on what signage will make
it safer. Angela McGibbon to be emailed. ACTION AF.
2.8 Local Place Plan Review – consider putting together a wish list, this approach
may receive better engagement - approach other community councils/funding
to cover cost of external to carry out survey. Some communities are putting up
a QR code so residents can access it.
Suggested two questions for survey. 1. What do you like about living in
Cambusbarron? 2. What would improve life in Cambusbarron?
There was a discussion about how best to proceed with this and how to deal
with any potential answers. Perhaps the school could take part in some way.
2.9 Safer route to school path is in place, need to query progress on crossing.
There are no markings and it is not obviously a crossing. ACTION AF to
contact Jen Preston.

3 Reports
3.1 Police Report JC, attached as Appendix I
3.1.2 12 minor crimes reported in the area.
3.1.3 60 calls for the area, a slight increase on the previous month.
3.1.4 They are keeping an eye on quad bikes in the quarry.
3.1.5 There has been a fire up in the woodland area.
3.1.6 The graffiti on the bridge has been cleaned off. A piece of art would be better.
3.1.7 The May meeting may be the AGM so police will be advised if it is. ACTION AF.
3.2 School Report - no report this month.

3.3 Planning Report - SN
3.3.1 There have been three planning applications of interest.
3.3.2 Eurowind turbines - a meteorological mast is to be erected on Cairnoch Hill to
take readings as part of the planning application.
3.3.3 New development Pirnhall/Bannockburn - there is an application for Phase 2
development for 265 new homes (Persimmon.)
3.3.4 New changing facilities for Cambusbarron Rovers.
3.3.5 There was a discussion regarding the revised planning required for the nursery.
They are still awaiting a decision.
3.4 Treasurer’s Report
3.4.1 Attached as Appendix II
3.4.2 Elephant in the Sky - 5 books sold.
3.4.3 Hall hire - reimbursed for paint. Community Pride.
3.4.4 New tax year - submit expenses.
3.4.5 £477 in microgrant. ACTION MN to apply for next round of microgrants.
3.5 Greener Cambusbarron - Derek MacAllister.
They will be starting up for the new season soon.
3.6 CCDT - AF
3.6.1 Events have begun. There is an Easter egg hunt this weekend.
3.7 Microgrants - MN
3.7.1 Summer events - approved £350
3.7.2 Charcoal Project training course - approved £160 ACTION MN to get details for
payment.
3.7.3 Sensory Garden - approved £500
3.7.4 Karate - approved £500
3.7.5 All approved. The Charcoal Project will be paid immediately, the others are
pending and will be paid once we receive the new funds.
4 Main agenda
4.1 Christmas lights - we need permission from Stirling Council.
4.2 Park improvements. Benches - to be stored.
4.3 School extension
4.4 Restricted Access Road signs at Johnnys Burn Road end - are these legal or
not? Raised by email from Douglas Campbell. They have been up since last
summer.
This has not been in any planning applications seen by the CC. ACTION AF
contact access officer.
4.5 Path between Gillies Hill and Wallace Place - very overgrown and inaccessible.
CC inquiry to be raised. ACTION AF.

7. Date of next meeting
7.1 This was confirmed as the AGM Tuesday 20 May at 7pm followed by the
regular meeting. To be advertised as 21 days' notice is required. ACTION AF
A noticeboard at Seven Sisters would be helpful.
7.2 The meeting closed at 8:45pm.

All of these offences remain live and enquiries are
ongoing.
999/101 CALLS
There were 60 calls made to Police for the
Cambusbarron area over the stated period. The calls
relate to a several incidents including neighbour issues,
assault, planned shoots, roads traffic issues, fraud,
youths, threats, abandoned 999 calls, concerns for
persons and calls to assist members of the public.
The increase in calls from last month is not attributed
to any particular type of call or incident.

in relation to substance misuse and drug dealing in
the Cambusbarron area.

drug dealing is welcomed, and can be reported to
