1 1.1 Introductions and welcome. The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. This was an
additional meeting scheduled owing to the coronavirus situation.

1.2- Apologies – police, Pam Campbell, Scott Farmer.
1.3- Declarations of interest for items on agenda - none

1.4- items raised by members of the public for inclusion in agenda – none.

 

2. Community Police report, PC Pam King and PC Ross Barclay couldn't attend but will take
note of comments. Report attached as Appendix I

      Nothing received

      SS blocked drain affecting new build, neighbouring property, contacting Stirling Council.
      NS replied – not received, will resend. DP also sent something on road markings.

    No response yet.

    14.1 Set up Zoom meeting for 6 January (held via TEAMS) MP Done

     

  3. Chair’s report

    1. The chair sent two emails to Roads Dept.

      William Collins responded a couple of days ago – can’t meet owing to lockdown.
      Stirling Council being strict about staff not meeting residents.

      Re February virtual meeting – will resend invite.

       

    2. Re gritting – John Steele – Team Leader on Roads. Confirmed B818 priority 2 road. Grit bins

      – said would deal with this later. SS gritter has been through for past few days. NS grit bin has
      been filled.

       

      PH would like to get road from Hotel to Dam gritted.

       

      SS people can travel 5 miles from area for exercise from own Council area under current
      regulations so have additional traffic.

    3. Windfarm – nothing from planning on this.

       

    4. Barr Wood – application for 3 houses still in, no feedback on objections.

       

    5. No feedback from Roads on junction by Cauldbarns.

       

  4. Secretary’s report (DB)

    1. Nothing to report.

       

  5. Treasurer’s report. (NS)

    1. Same balance in account – £2397.34 Clerk’s December invoice to be paid with January
      invoice.

       

  6. Stirling Councillor report

    1. No report received.

       

  7. Valley Renewables Group report (MP)

    1. A summary of the Board meeting was circulated. Attached as Appendix II. Financial Reports
      attached as Appendix III.

      Project Officer updated the Board on a range of projects.

       

  8. Woodland Group report

    1. Not sure how many Christmas trees were claimed

    2. Red squirrels project ongoing

    3. Mulching completed

    4. Felling by Roadmans Houses after nesting season.

    5. Autumn Wood Fuel day to be scheduled

       

      1. Community meeting space – there will be a consultation with all stakeholders.

         

      2. Grants review in progress.

         

      3. Governance group looking at creating a handbook.

         

      4. Communications group looking at revamping website

         

      5. Covid 19 support group looking at ways Falck grant can be best utilized.

         

      6. Finance summary from Treasurer also circulated. Appendix III

         

      7. Project Officer to cost £15,000 each over 3 years? Only one year contracted so far. Extension
        depends on review end of year one. Currently budgeted for 3 years.

         

      8. MP was thanked for her report.

         

      9. DP Christmas trees – Gordon Berry supplies via Scout group, taking orders month before. We
        would not want to compete with this fundraising effort.

       

  9. Roads report

    1. Most issues covered earlier in meeting.

    2. Pothole half way up New Line Road to be reported by PH.

    3. Crossing has deteriorated. Reporting on behalf of IM. ACTION PH contact Scottish Water.

    4. Grit bins – need some hand shovels? May encourage more use. Could VRG sponsor half a
      dozen hand shovels.

      DB money should come from CC pot – showing community resilience. Volunteer to purchase.
      NS. ACTION NS. Get 20, keep some in reserve? £10 a shovel.

       

  10. Planning report

    1. Nothing new to report. Concerned that if access CC email sometimes fuller details. PH to
      speak with planning.

       

  11. AOB

    1. NS Bins weren’t collected last week? Other members the same.

       

    2. Facebook reminder for winter weather to be prepared. ACTION HB.

       

    3. Covid support. It was suggested that old tablets etc could perhaps be recycled to families who
      require technology for home schooling. However there may be Covid issues associated with
      this.

       

      Christine Puckering has been asked to join Covid support group. Also asking if can extend
      time period on Falck grant and also if new money available. Weekend meeting to be
      scheduled ACTION NS.

       

    4. NS has spoken to some new residents in Cauldbarns’ developments. Some not yet fully-
      occupied. Are now on newsletter distribution list.

VRG UPDATE TO CVDCC FOR JAN 6TH MEETING

 

1/ A range of exciting projects was presented by the project officer which are currently in progress,
ready to roll or close to. These include – Love North Third; Community Sharing; Virtual Community
Hub; Community Defibrillators; Community Base; Carron Valley Growers, Ditching Disposables; Your
Carbon Footprint; Carron Valley’s Red Squirrels; Micro Generation; Hedgehog release area; Dark
Skies designation…..

2/ Woodland Group – self-service Christmas Tree zone; red squirrel project in development; mulching
completed; feeling by Roadman’s Houses after nesting season; wood fuel day in autumn.

3/ Community meeting space – consultation with all stakeholders before decision to finally go ahead.
4/ Grants’ review in progress possibly to tighten up criteria, monitor and evaluate effectiveness.

5/ Governance group is looking at creating a guidance handbook and reviewing succession planning.
6/ The main work of the Communication group is looking at revamping the website.

7/ The C-19 support group is ready to roll where needed and also looking at what other ways the
Falck grant can be used to help those in need or to ease the schools closure situation.
